FEI Equestrian Susan Jaccoma Makes a Clean Sweep of East Coast Dressage Championships on Fall Tour; Sites are Set on Qualifying for the 2010 FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games in Kentucky
New England Dressage competitor clinches key wins for a championship hat trick at the USDF Region 8 Intermediare II, Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle Championships, as well as an FEI Grand Prix Special win at Dressage at Devon

KENNEBUNK, Maine and WELLINGTON, Florida, October 21, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seasoned Federation Équestre Internationale (FEI) Dressage Competitor Susan Jaccoma recently won the FEI Intermediare II, Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle championship classes at the New England Dressage Association (NEDA) Fall Festival and USDF Region 8 Dressage Championships/CDI-W in Saugerties, N.Y. September 9-13. She followed up those impressive wins with a first and third place at yet another major East Coast international show at Dressage at Devon in Pennsylvania in the same month.

Jaccoma competed her own horse "Wadamur," a 9-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Weltmeyer-Sandro Hit) that she has trained since he was three-years-old. Affectionately known as "Moe," the six-time US Olympian Robert Dover called him a "world-class horse" right from the start. Last year Wadamur placed 5th at the 2008 National Intermediare Dressage Championship in San Juan Capistrano, California and was listed as one of the top young horses in the country. Intermediare and Grand Prix are the top levels in the equestrian sport of dressage, an Olympic discipline. Jaccoma trains with renowned FEI trainer Lars Petersen of Denmark, who is a 5-time Danish National Champion who has also competed in an Olympiad, two World Cup Finals and three World Equestrian Games.

"I am over the moon about our performances. We had a game plan moving forward into this season and Moe performed brilliantly and is right on target," Jaccoma said.

At NEDA Wadamur scored a 68.105% in the FEI Intermediare II championship test; a 66.383% in the FEI Grand Prix test; and a 70.70% to clinch the win in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle. Moving on to the Devon CDI-W competition a little over a week later, Wadamur placed third in his first class there, the FEI Grand Prix test with a score of 63.957% in a field of 14 horses. He then came back to win the FEI Grand Prix Special with a score of 66.208%, besting her own coach and the field of nine competitors in this international competition. At Devon, the judges included: Isobel Wessels, Wim Ernes, Anne Gribbons, Bo Jena, and Cara Whitham.

"We at Mushroom Matrix are extremely proud and excited about Sue's great win at Devon. We know how challenging it is to achieve this high level of performance and we support her in all her hard work and dedication. Sue is a fabulous Team Matrix member and we congratulate her!" Keith Manfred, Vice President at Mushroom Matrix, said.

Jaccoma heads to her training base in Florida in November to continue her work with Petersen in readying for riding in the selections trials for the World Equestrian Games (WEG) next year. To earn a berth on the international team, the top 15 high performance horse and rider combinations will be invited to compete against one another. Riders have up until July 15, 2010 to earn their qualifying scores, which Jaccoma has already achieved.
